Tea Biscuits

2 cups sifted all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 Tbsp shortening
2/3 cup milk

Preheat oven to 450 F. Sift then measure flour. Add baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture is fine. Add milk gradually with as little mixing as possible. Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead for a few seconds. Roll to 3/4" thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Arrange on greased pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
