Slow Cooker/Instant Pot Baked Beans

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

4 cups dry navy beans (soaked overnight or partially cooked)
4 cups tomato puree
1/2 to 1 onion in large chunks
6 Tbsp brown sugar or
1/4 cup molasses + 2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 - 1 tsp salt

Instant Pot Baked Beans

4 cups dry navy beans, rinsed
2 cups water
4 cups tomato puree
1 to 2 onions in large chunks
4 - 5 cloves fresh garlic
6 Tbsp brown sugar or
1/4 cup molasses + 4 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 - 1 tsp salt

Combine all ingredients in instant pot.  Cook on Beans setting for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Keep warm until ready to use. Add sliced weiners or other plant based protein.
